Sub Accounts
Sub accounts let you maintain consistent state across multiple SalesMagic orgs, such as shared prospects, training modules, and payment methods. This is useful if you are managing multiple organizations that each have their own SalesMagic accounts and you want all of them to use the same set of prospects and training modules, or you don't want them to worry about payment details. This feature can be accessed from the org selector in the nav bar:
This feature is only accessible by Admin users
To add a new sub account to your org, select this menu entry and then click on the Add Sub Account button. You connect a sub account by providing the email address of an admin user in the sub account.
Note
For security reasons, the email domain must be the same in the parent org and sub account. For example, if your email address is fred@example.com
then you must have an admin user in the sub account with the same @example.com
domain. If you wish to use the same email address for each, you can do this by using the +
syntax of email usernames, e.g., fred+subaccount@example.com
.
Once you've connected a sub account, the Sub Accounts dialog will let you copy any subset of org-level prospects or org-level training modules from your org to any of your sub accounts. Note that you cannot copy private prospects or modules; only ones that have already been shared with the rest of your org.
A prospect or training module will only be copied to a sub account once. If an existing copy is found in the sub account, it will not be modified further. This is to ensure that you do not accidentally overwrite any changes that may have been made in the sub account since the element was initially copied.
If you wish to disconnect a sub account, you must sign into the sub account and access the Sub Accounts nav bar menu. From here, you will find a button to unlink the account from its parent.
You can tell if a prospect or module in a sub account has been copied from the parent account by hovering over the sharing icon in the top-left of the element's card. It will include an additional "Copied from Parent Org" description if the element has been copied from the parent (this is only shown for Admin users).
All sub accounts share the credit quota from the parent org. That is, once a sub account consumes all of their credits, they will start to consume credits from the parent org. This gives you a way to manage payment for all of your sub accounts in one place. A sub account can see the shared subscription on their Plan and Billing pages, e.g.,
And the parent org will be able to see all of the sub accounts that have consumed its credits via the Billing page.
Note
Sub accounts can still purchase their own subscriptions and those credits will be used first. The parent org's subscription is only used if the sub account reaches a zero credit balance.
